Historic Waxahachie, Inc. is pleased to announce the winners of the 2020 Christmas Tour of Lights.
The public was asked to vote to determine the most deserving historic residences for this year’s Historic Waxahachie Christmas Tour of Lights. Voters were able to cast their choice online or in person at a variety of local businesses.
The votes have been tallied and the results are as follows:
First Place
1001 W Main St – The Bonnell family’s red & white outlined turn-of-the-century Victorian farmhouse features numerous Christmas trees and illuminated sidewalk.
Second Place
233 Patrick St – A traditional & elegant Queen Anne styled house with wreathed fence that is the 19th century nationally registered historic home of the Allen family
Third Place
707 W Marvin Ave – The McDivit’s pre-1930 historic residence adorned with icicles and candy-cane wrapped posts
Honorable Mention:
304 Cynisca St – An artistic landscape lighting approach produced a surreal experience at the Smith’s 1920’s Craftsman home
212 John Arden Dr – Large angels, a lighted cupola and wreaths above the window boxes on the 1930’s cottage home of the Martinez family
905 W Main St – Brightly lit sleigh and reindeer are prominent holiday decorations at the late 19th century cottage home of the Smith family
