FACADE RESTORATION
GRANT PROGRAM
Purpose: To encourage owners of buildings within the Waxahachie Downtown Historic Overlay (WDHO) District to accurately restore or rehabilitate the façade of their buildings by providing financial assistance in the form of a matching grant.
Eligibility: Any business located in the WDHO is eligible to apply. All exterior changes to properties in the WDHO District must be approved by the Waxahachie Heritage Preservation Commission (HPC). Only projects that have received pre-approval from the HPC will be considered for HWI grant funding.
Fund Availability: Grants are available on an annual basis beginning in February of each year, on a first come, first serve basis and as funds are available. The maximum grant is $5,000.00.
Grant Payment: Reimbursement and payment of grant will be made only after completion of the work and final approval by HPC.
